Training Camp 2021

We are hosting 1 K-Way Skyrun Training Camp in the second half of 2021. Please find the full details of The Training Camp in the button below. We strongly recommend that you attend The Training Camp if you are a first time SkyRun participant, as this will give you a real insight to the race, route and what to expect on race weekend.

The date for The Training Camp, is the 10th, 11th & 12th of September. We will accept participants into The Training Camp until 2 weeks prior to The Camp taking place, or if all the slots have been filled. Please note that The Training Camp is limited to 80 pax.


The Lady Grey Country Club offers camping, for those that want to camp before the event. This is not included in the entry fee and should be booked before directly with Lady Grey Country Club. They have full facilities, you need to bring all your own camping gear. More accommodation options are available on the menu of the website.

Please note: even if you are doing the 65km most will finish after dark and it is a 2-hour drive back to Lady Grey on a dirt road. You are also welcome to bring your own tent and camp at the finish line, the cost of your use of the camping facility is included in your entry, however, your seconds need to pay an R80 fee at the clubhouse at Wartrail for the use of the facilities. This is an Honesty System so we ask you, please pay at the bar for all seconds that do camp at the Wartrail CC.

Shuttle Service

Back to Lady Grey (Only)

As the race is from point to point and some choose to race without a support team, we offer a service to take you back to LG after the race. We normally do 4 timeslots from Saturday evening at 8 pm, with the last shuttle leaving at 12 noon on Sunday. You can book and pay for the Taxi service on the day of registration, at the “info, taxi’s & tents” desk.


We encourage runners to have a support team or at least one seconder, this is just more practical and it is always great to have support at Balloch when you get into the seconding point. The road from Lady Grey to Balloch Caves is a dirt road for 45km and is accessible by Sedan, provided there has been no rain in the build-up to the race. If wet, the roads are not good and could present problems for smaller cars. 

We will be closing the road into the Balloch Farm to all cars that are not official race vehicles. The road is a single lane and is very rough so we offer a shuttle service instead, from the gate to the Caves. The Mini Busses will run every 20 min and ferry seconds into the venue. This is a 5km trip, and you need to plan to take all your luggage with you to the cave for use while there. The Mini Busses will have trailers attached to assist with items such as cooler boxes and tents.
